Veeam Availability Suite กำลังจะ Support hyper converged system เจ้าแรกแล้ววววว !!!!!

เป็นข่าวดีกันเลยทีเดียวที่ตอนนี้ Veeam กำลังจะสามารถ Integration กับ Hyper Converged System เจ้าแรกแล้วนั่นก็คือ  Cisco HyperFlex 2.0

ซึ่งสิ่งที่จะ Integration กันแล้วให้ได้ผลดีกันกับการ Backup นั้นก็คือ Backup from Storage snapshot นั้นเอง

Backup from Storage Snapshot คือ ?

Backup from storage Snapshot นั้นช่วยให้ลดระยะเวลาผลกระทบกับ Production VMs นั้นเองกล่าวได้ง่าย ๆ ก็คือ ลดเวลา การทำ Virtual machine snapshot นั้นเอง ทำให้เราสามารถ Backup โดยไม่กระทบกับ Workload ของ Hyper-visor ได้ด้วย ทำให้การทำงานของ VMs ไม่สะดุดนั่นเอง

ซึ่งการ Integration นั้นทำ ให้ Veeam proxy สามารถ ที่จะดึงข้อมูลออกจาก Cisco HyperFlex 2.0 โดยผ่าน Protocols NFS โดนดึงจาก IO Visor โดยการควบคุมของ HyperFlex Controller Cluster Manager.

การทำงานของ Veeam Availabiltiy Suite + Cisco HyperFlex 2.0 

1. Analyzes which VMs in the job have disks on supported storage
2. Performs Veeam’s agentless application-aware processing and consistency for a VM
3. Creates HyperFlex VM snapshot, leveraging the HyperFlex API
4. Releases the consistent state of the VM
5. Retrieves the CBT information for VM snapshots
6. Reads new and changed virtual disk data blocks directly from the HyperFlex VM snapshot and transports them to the backup repository or a replica VM
7. Triggers the removal of the HyperFlex VM snapshot once the VM has been backed up
8. Truncates database logs within the VM

Replication leveraging the Backup from Storage Snapshots technology

รวมถึงการ Replication VMs จาก Source Hosts ไปยัง Target Hosts. ซึ่งการ Replication ของ VMs นั้นทำให้การ Rep นั้นอาศัยการ Integration Storage Snapshots technology ซึ่งการ replication VMs นั้นแตกต่างกันการ Backup copy ที่เป็น Format ของ Veeam แต่การ replication จาก Veeam ก็ยังใช้ประโยชน์ ของ VMware Change block tracking (CBT) ทำให้ replication on hyperFlex ทำได้รวดเร็วได้ยิ่งขึ้นกว่าเดิม

บทสรุป

การ Integration ของ Hyper Converge นั้นช่วยให้การ Backup หรือ Replication  ทำให้ลดภาระผลกระทบของ Production VMs ได้ดีขึ้น ซึ่ง ทำให้องค์กรของการทำงานทำให้ Veeam Availability Suite ช่วยเพิ่ม ความมั่นคงของ การทำงาน ได้ตาม RTPO = <15 Minute นั้นเองนะครับ ซึ่งการ Support HyperFlex 2.0 นั้น Veeam จะ Support ใน Veeam Availability Suite Version 9.5 update 2 ใน Pack ของ Enterprise + Edition นั่นเอง

• Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 2 (or newer), Enterprise Plus edition
• Cisco HyperFlex 2.0 or newer
